📡 Updating Your DMR Radio Contact List

Keeping your DMR radio contact list current ensures you can see names and IDs when other operators key up. The easiest way to stay up to date is by downloading the official user.csv file from RadioID.net.

🔑 Why Update?

  • Displays the correct Callsigns, Names, and IDs of fellow operators.
  • Helps identify who is transmitting on your network.
  • Keeps your radio aligned with the global DMR database.

📝 Step‑by‑Step Instructions

  1. Go to the RadioID.net database dumps page

  1. Download the latest user.csv file
    • This file contains the complete worldwide DMR user list.
    • It is updated regularly, so always grab the newest version.
  2. Load the file into your programming software (CPS)
    • Open your radio’s Customer Programming Software.
    • Look for the option to import contacts.
    • Select the user.csv file you downloaded.
  3. Write the updated contacts to your radio
    • Once imported, connect your radio via USB.
    • Use CPS to write the updated contact list into your device.
  4. Verify the update
    • Key up or monitor activity.
    • You should now see names and IDs displayed correctly.

⚠️ Notes

  • Some radios have a limit on the number of contacts they can store. If the full list is too large, you may need to filter or trim the file before importing.
  • Always back up your existing codeplug before making changes.
  • IF Users are Showing up with Wrong Callsign or a Number, its a Key Visual that you need to update your contact list
  • Only YOU can keep your contact list updated, Repeater Admin(s), Sysops or Others can only advise you to update your contact list.
  • You can also Manually Change or Add a Contact to your list as well!
